EFF Files Comment Opposing the Department of Homeland Security’s Massive Expansion of Biometric Surveillance

What the Rule Would Do Currently, DHS requires applicants for certain, but not all, immigration benefits to submit fingerprints, photographs, or signatures. DHS’s proposed rule would change that regime in three significant ways.    First, the proposed rule would make mandatory biometrics submission the default for anyone who submits an application for an immigration benefit.
