Apple: Government National Security Data Grabs Doubled In Just 6 Months

Apple has released its transparency report for the second half of 2016, revealing the number of government requests for user data via national security orders had doubled from the first six months on the year, reaching a record high. The iPhone creator said it had been handed between 5,750 and 5,999 orders during the last six months of 2016, up from between 2,750 and 2,999 for the first half of the year.
