Bring in the Bug Hunters or Maybe Not for Some Open Source Projects

Facebook, GitHub and the Ford Foundation have recently donated $300,000 to the Internet Bug Bounty, a program that rewards security researchers who find vulnerabilities in software deemed critical to the internet infrastructure. The plan is to use the money to expand the program’s coverage to data processing libraries and other widely used open-source software.
