Quantum Computing Poses Risks to Cryptography and Bitcoin


According to Konstantinos Karagiannis, Chief Technology Officer for Security Consulting at BT Americas, the reason why computers were created in the first place was to help create and crack cryptography. In a session at the Open Source Summit in Los Angeles, Karagiannis argued that it is the race to crack modern cryptography that is fuelling the modern drive for quantum computing.
