While ransomware typically demands Bitcoin as a ransom to ‘unblock’ access to systems/files, crypto-ransomware attacks are designed to mine cryptocurrencies without the users’ knowledge. Basically, crypto-ransomware is malicious software that encrypts files on a computer or mobile device to extort money.
